  • X-Country
  • Regular training sessions

From beginnings as a pure road running club, Ryston Runners AC has developed into one of the most versatile clubs in the county.

Junior Athletics

We offer training and competition for children aged 8-16. Please see our Junior Athletics page for more information.

Track & Field

We compete in a number of leagues and competitions which cover a broad range of ages and abilities:

  • Southern Athletics League - A higher standard Saturday league for senior male and female athletes. We generally select teams for these fixtures.
  • East Anglian League - A great Sunday league for all ages and abilities. Events are run for Under 11s through all age groups to Seniors.
  • Eastern Veterans League - A league specifically for women aged over 35 and men aged over 40. Events are held on the first Wednesday evening of the month in summer, with the top clubs qualifying for a final in September.
  • Eastern Young Athletes League - For all junior athletes in the under 13, 15 & 17 age groups, we compete in a joint team alongside West Norfolk AC, Diss AC and Thetford AC. These events are on a Sunday.
  • Sportshall Athletics - Indoor 'introductory' style athletics for juniors aged under 15. We compete in the Norfolk league in a joint team alongside West Norfolk AC

Road Running

From supporting the elite to the beginner we have decades of experience and run regular training sessions aimed specifically at getting our members running faster!

The club offers its members the opportunity to run in several events including the Round Norfolk Relay, Regional Road Relays and the Hereward Relay. In addition to this we often target specific races throughout the year where we regularly get up to 30+ participants, ensuring a vibrant team atmosphere.

As well as running, we organise two events in the Norfolk road race calendar; the Hancock Half Hour in July and the Wissey Half Marathon in September.

X-Country

One of our key winter activities is the organisation of a popular series of cross-country races - 6 in total, once a month from October through to March. These events attract athletes from several miles around and so provide a decent level of competition for all abilities. There are races for all age groups from children under 9 to adults over 60. Click here for more information.

In addition to the races we organise we encourage participation in county, regional and national cross-country championships.
